Get the Look: Naomi Watts at the Met Costume Institute Gala

Mr. Starr was also excited to use the new Thierry Mugler luxury cosmetic collection, called "The Art of the Metamorphosis." With the theme of the evening revolving around superheroes and fantasy, it only seems appropriate to be using Mugler cosmetics, which look completely otherworldly.
SKIN:
To begin, Paul prepped Naomi's skin with Epicuren Discovery Protein Mist Enzyme Activated Toner. Epicuren is Paul's new favorite brand. "There is just something about this mist," he tells us. "It makes the skin...like whoa!" The mist hydrates and provides an excellent base before makeup.
Next, Paul mixed a squirt of Epicuren Discovery Skin Treat Emulsion Moisturizer and a one-drop of RODIN Olio Lusso together and applied it over Naomi's entire face. The Skin Treat Moisturizer is a collagen emulsion designed to nourish and hydrate the skin. Rodin Olio Lusso is a luxury skin oil that is composed of eleven essential oils that when blended together leave the skin instantly supple and radiant. Paul informs us, that when using the oil, a little goes a very long way, so only a drop is needed for the entire face.
Paul then used his makeup sponge to apply Chanel Teint Innocence Naturally Luminous Makeup in Gently Ivory to even her skin tone - creating a flawless complexion. Paul added LORAC Coverup in C2-Light to conceal where needed and LORAC Coverup in C1-Porcelain to highlight. The Coverup blends perfectly to without looking heavy and it naturally lightens and brightens your face.
*Inside tip from Paul: To create a perfectly flawless complexion when applying your foundation, stipple (dot on) on the foundation with a makeup sponge - especially around the nose and along the corners of the lips.
Paul used Kevyn Aucoin - The Creamy Moist Glow in Pravella - a soft petal pink cream blush on the apples of Naomi's cheeks to create a warm glow.
Paul used the classic Anastasia Brow Pencil in Blonde to fill-in and shape Naomi's brows - creating a thick natural-looking brow. He then used the Chanel Perfect Brows (trio palette) to perfect her brow shape using the lightest shade in the compact. Paul says, "Every woman needs to purchase this palette!" Chanel had discontinued the product - but recently brought it back. The palette features three powder shades and Paul in particular, loves the way it sets the brows after you have applied a brow pencil. Plus, the powder is light, so you can build it on to your desired color.
Paul kept Naomi's eyes soft and classic. He created a soft line using a black eyeliner pencil across the upper lids only. He pulled the liner out slightly to create a subtle cat-eye.
He then added a more dramatic line along the upper lash line using Thierry Mugler Eye Sculpt - Eye Liner Cream in Black.
Paul added a white shimmer cream eye shadow to her lid and then the pewter shade from the Chanel Multi-Use Makeup Palette in Lumiere Naturelle on top. Paul loves this new Limited-Edition Chanel Palette because it has everything you need for eyes, lips and cheeks. Includes a mix of best-selling and exclusive colors - four eyeshadows, four lip colors and one blush.
Paul then curled Naomi's lashes once and added two coats of black mascara.
Paul used Thierry Mugler's Flash Lips - Lip Foundation in Rosewood to smooth and plump Naomi's lips before applying any color.
Next, Paul added Thierry Mugler's Lip Pen in Rosewood over the Flash Lips foundation product. "This new lip pen is so fantastic. Its like a Sharpie," Paul explains. "It stains the mouth, but has the essence of your natural lip color." The pen colors-in lips for a subtle "just-bitten" lip effect.
Finally, Paul added his "secret weapon," a crimson red color lipstick from Tokyo to finish off her pout.
Paul applied Benefit Cosmetics Jiffy Tan to create a warm glow on Naomi's body. The tinted body lotion goes on evenly, won't streak, and stays put for instant subtle shimmer.
