Debbie Harry’s Extreme Beauty Treatments
As good kids of the 80’s, we worship Debbie Harry. “Heart of Glass” is still an anthem for us and in our hearts Debbie can do no wrong. She’s the ultimate icon of female rockers. She’s cool. She’s edgy. She’s feminine. She’s always in control.
Well, little did we know, Debbie has confessed that she fears getting old, and has taken some out-of-the-box steps to preserving her youth. At first she tried the basic stuff. She tried Macro Biotic eating. She became a vegetarian. She started Yoga. She even had some cosmetic surgery on her face to keep things tight. But, it was a trip to Montreaux, Switzerland that opened up a new world of youth exploration for the Blondie singer.
Debbie has confessed to getting Black Sheep Embryo injections as an anti aging treatment. The treatment is called, “Cell Therapy” and involves taking cells from different embryos of black sheep.
Harry said, “They made the injections from the embryos of black sheep, and they would take from different organs in different embryos - from the liver, the glands and from the bone - in order to make up the injections. There were 11 injections in all. I thought, 'Wow, this is so logical - you have fresh cells'. I was the youngest person that had ever done it.”
Debbie, who now regrets having the treatment done, because she doesn’t feel it was beneficial has now turned to another controversial treatment, Human Growth Hormone injections.
HGH, also known as Growth Hormone Replacement Therapy, claims to reduce the biological and physical effects of ageing and improve physical performance. Unfortunately, the practice of injecting hGh is banned in many countries and most experts agree that there simply hasn’t been enough research to know if it is effective…or even safe. Some researchers are concerned that regular hGH injections may speed up the growth of some cancers.
Harry said, "At one time age was considered wisdom and prestige. But now nobody really values age the way they did."
It’s crazy to hear one of your heroes has the same insecurities that everyone else does, but Debbie should know we love her no matter what she looks like. She’ll always be the coolest bad-ass babe to rock the stage in our eyes.
What do you think about Debbie’s radical beauty treatments? Would you do it?
